On July 9, 2025, in order to deepen tourism exchanges and cooperation between China and Georgia, a delegation from the China Travel Service Association(CTSA) visited the Georgian National Tourism Administration(GNTA) in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. Both sides had in-depth exchanges on topics including strengthening the connectivity of the tourism market and promoting mutual visits among tourists, and reached broad consensus on cooperation initiatives.
The delegation was led by Sun Guizhen, Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Travel Service Association(CTSA). Its members included Ren Hong, Vice President of the China Travel Service Association and General Manager of Xi’an China International Travel Service Co., Ltd., Guo Ming, President of the Customized Tourism Branch of the China Travel Service Association and Chairman of Honghu Yiyou, and Zhang Wei, Secretary General of the Inbound Tourism Branch of the China Travel Service Association.
During the meeting, Vice President and Secretary General Sun Guizhen provided the Georgian side with a detailed introduction on the development status of the Chinese tourism market and the core functions of the China Travel Service Association. She noted that In recent years, tourism exchanges between China and Georgia have become increasingly close, with the number of two-way tourists steady growth. “As the Belt and Road Initiative advances further, China-Georgia tourism cooperation is embracing unprecedented development opportunities,”She stated.The China Travel Service Association is willing to work together with the Georgian National Tourism Administration to build an efficient and pragmatic exchange and cooperation platform for the tourism industries of the two countries, promote tourism market connectivity, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

During the meeting, Vice President and Secretary General Sun Guizhen, on behalf of the association, sincerely invited Ms. Maia Omiadze, Director of the Georgian National Tourism Administration, to lead a delegation to participate in the “2025 First International Travel Service Conference and Trade Exhibition.” The event is scheduled to be held in Sanya, China, on October 16, 2025. She warmly welcomed influential Georgian tourism enterprises, industry associations, and tourism destinations in Georgia to actively participate in this event and jointly explore market opportunities.
Ms. Maia Omiadze, Director of the Georgian National Tourism Administration, along with the head of the International Relations Department of the Tourism Administration, extended a warm welcome to the Chinese delegation. Director Omiadze warmly welcomed the visit of Vice President and Secretary General Sun Guizhen and his delegation, and highly praised the significance of this meeting.

Director Omiadze pointed out that the “China-Georgia Mutual Visa Exemption Agreement”,which officially implemented from May 28, 2024, is an important milestone in the history of bilateral relations between the two countries and will exert a profound and positive impact on deepening bilateral relations between China and Georgia. “Georgia always regards China as a strategically significant key source market and gives the highest priority to the development of the Chinese tourism market,” and She also expressed that the Georgian National Tourism Administration eagerly hopes to strengthen comprehensive cooperation with the Chinese tourism industry in product development, market promotion, information sharing, personnel training, and other aspects through the important bridge of the China Travel Service Association, and accelerate the promotion of the scale of two-way tourists between China and Georgia to a new level.
This meeting was conducted in a friendly, pragmatic, and efficient atmosphere. Both parties agreed that there is a broad prospect for tourism cooperation between China and Georgia.Going forward, the China Travel Service Association and the Georgian National Tourism Administration will establish a closer cooperation mechanism to jointly implement the consensus reached at this meeting, actively advance the execution of various cooperation initiatives, and make new and greater contributions to the prosperous development of the tourism industry and the friendly exchanges between the peoples of the two countries.
