On the afternoon of November 19th, Yang Liang, a senior Spanish-speaking tour guide from Xi’an International Travel Service, was invited to the International Language and Culture College of Xi’an Translation University. He delivered a special lecture titled “Tourism Spanish, Career Pathways to the Future” to Spanish language teachers and students, which received unanimous praise from both teachers and students.

As a tourism industry expert with 25 years of professional experience, Yang Liang has accumulated rich practical experience and industry insights. In the lecture, he systematically reviewed the recovery trends and development prospects of China’s tourism industry in the post-pandemic era, using his own career development as a clue. He also provided an in-depth analysis of the composition of the tourism industry chain and employment opportunities, helping students establish an overall understanding of the industry.

Focusing particularly on the career direction of “foreign language tour guide”, Yang Liang vividly expounded on the actual work content, required abilities, and professional ethics of tour guides, combining numerous real-life cases. Furthermore, he provided a detailed interpretation of career development paths, income structures, and tour guide qualification exams that were of concern to the students, enabling them to gain a more specific and in-depth understanding of the profession of tour guide.
In addition, Yang Liang, drawing from his own experiences in foreign affairs reception and high-end customized tours, emphasized the importance of cross-cultural communication skills in tourism services. He encouraged the students to not only lay a solid foundation in language, but also to actively learn about the history, culture, and customs of Spanish-speaking countries, striving to become a bridge for cultural exchange between China and the West.

During the interactive session, the students eagerly asked questions and engaged in in-depth discussions with Yang Liang on topics such as career choices, skill enhancement, and industry challenges. The atmosphere was lively, and the applause was prolonged. Xi’an International Travel Service has always been committed to cultivating industry talents and promoting cross-cultural exchanges and communication. In the future, we will continue to leverage our resource advantages, build more communication platforms between schools and enterprises, inject fresh blood into the cultural tourism industry, and open up career development paths for language majors, jointly promoting the high-quality development of the cultural tourism industry!
